A Note From Norton
February 21, 2003

Greetings,

As we get into the meat of 2003 things are getting busy ... And looking like a lot is going to be happening this year with Norton and all of his musical adventures.

The acoustic Norton and Friends is getting busy with a bunch of great concerts on the horizon. This is a wonderful show that debuts a huge selection of Norton’s brand new or rarely heard songs, blending great vocal harmonies and beautiful acoustic tones with a wide variety of musical styles including folk, country, latin, instrumentals, rockabilly, bluegrass, reggae, ballads and more ... Featuring Lisa Flores on guitar and vocals, Dave Aguilar on guitar and vocals, Doug Harman on piano, cello guitar and vocals and James Henry on percussion and vocals. This is a show you won’t want to miss.

The Knockouts are gearing up for a great year as well. Introducing a great new pile of tunes this band of seasoned recording and touring giants is tighter than ever. Featuring long time Knockouts David Brown who has played with Norton for 18 years, Johnny "V" Vernazza, with Norton for 20 years, Tyler Eng now entering into his 11th year and Austin Delone who has joined the gang after playing on and off with Norton since 1980. These guys have more credits between them than you can count, from Elvin Bishop, Greg Allmann, Boz Scaggs, Greg Kihn, Charlie Musslewhite, Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, Commander Cody and more, they add a tight, dynamic and soulful groove to Norton’s Music. Norton’s versatility, virtuosity and power on the harp and as a vocalist are brought to the foreground with this band. If you haven’t yet caught one of their shows, do yourself a favor ... And be prepared to be Knocked Out! More dates are coming in to fill out their list. Keep posted at the website for more shows.

Norton and Roy Rogers are not limiting their performances together in 2003, as they have in many of the past years. This year will see the duet out performing in festivals, theaters, fairs and clubs across the country. Pay attention to the website to keep track of their upcoming shows as they are coming in fast and getting shuffled around a bit in the process. Following the release of their latest CD "Roots of Our Nature", Norton and Roy have been enjoying a great deal of success and have had some wonderful crowds appearing at their shows. Roy was just recently nominated for a WC Handy award in the Blues Instrumentalist-guitar category. So much is happening!!! The fire that Norton and Roy have always gotten going on stage is still roaring ... The Musical dance between these two incredible virtuosos as well as the humorous banter and the stories they tell about their travels and their songs, have endeared their fans. The crowds are growing bigger and coming back again and again. They are happy to be taking their music into more territory this year.

That encapsulates some of what Norton is doing this year. He is in the studio writing and recording new music and thankful for the blessings and the support that you, the fans, have given him. Hope to see you out there!

Harmonically,
Norton
