Dear fans and friends,

I am very happy to announce that my CD, "King Of The Highway", is out at last on Blind Pig Records. Many thanks to the great cats at Blind Pig for the great work they are doing getting it out to the stores and radio stations. Special thanks to all of you out there for you patience while I was putting this music together for you. I believe you will all be happy with the results!!!

The Steve Miller touring schedule is at an end for this year. I have been at home being dad, working on writing and recording a bunch of new tunes, while doing lots of business to support this new release. I am now also working on tours and festivals for 2001, that will take my band live to the rest of the US and the world. The Knockouts should be back out rocking on the road sometime early 2001.

I want to especilly thank Chris Harris for the hard work and dedication that he has volunteered into making this a top quality website...he is the man!!!!

We are in the process of making the product on this site (CDs, videos, etc) available for credit card purchases...thanks for your patience and continued support.

Norton's Top 10 List for a Brighter Future (Here's where you can check out some of the things I care about (Ooooh! scary eh?))

1) Let love and happiness abound in your lives and spread to all that surround you. (You really can't go wrong with this one!)

2) Visualize a world where all people can enjoy the joys of freedom and happiness without fear of war. (Pray for world peace...or...pray for whirled peas)

3) Support the continuation of our species through pro-environmental action as well as causes that prevent the extinction of species. (Don't allow our world nor it's multitudes of inhabitants to be killed by pollution, deforestation or other forms of mismanagement of our land air and water)

4) Speak out and get involved in your communities and with organizations that support what you believe in. (Don't just sit around and complain)

5) Support media that is more positive, less violence oriented, less sensationalized, and which does not invade people's privacy. (Let's dipose of the invasive freak show mentality of media news coverage)

6) Keep our kids in school and thus slow the growth rate of the criminal lifestyles and incarceration of our youth through greater funding for the improvement of our public schools, with an emphasis on inspiration through the arts, music and drama, as well as through supporting today's more varied sports activities. (We can make a positive difference to the future of our world!)

7) Reach out and lend a helping hand to someone in need. (Don't just wait for the holidays for this one)

8) Support Public Sponsored Radio and Telvision programming. (The real deal!!!! NPR & PBS are the best)

9) Support Live Music (Small clubs and live venues will whither away without your patronage)

10) Buy my new CD "King Of The Highway" for your holiday enjoyment. (Let me sing and play for you!!!!)
