A Note From Norton
July 16, 2002

Greetings again to my fans in Cyberville. I have just come out from my recording hibernation...and I am happy to announce that, after a whole bunch of hours of writing, recording and some serious musical fun, the new Norton Buffalo and Roy Rogers CD, "Roots of Our Nature" is done and due out August 13 on Blind Pig Records. It was a labor of love that involved some serious lost sleep and long hours for me in the making of this CD as I not only played but also engineered much of the recording. I also did all of the artwork on the CD...so now I am happily catching up on my rest and getting back to working on more music for you all to enjoy in the future!

Roy and I both wrote some great tunes together and separately on this CD...there are two wonderful instrumental tracks, a couple beautiful ballads, some storytelling and thought rendering lyrics as well as some very funky grooves, hot picking and great rhythms that have become our trademark.

I am happy that Blind Pig has once again taken up the banner for us in releasing this CD (which, by the way, is being released as "Norton Buffalo and Roy Rogers" and puts our names in reverse order from previous releases). We are sure that Blind Pig will do their usual great job of getting this out to the masses. But for those of you who are Norton Buffalo fans..or Norton and Roy fans..or even just Roy fans...please help in spreading the word!!!

We look forward to hearing from both the music critics and of course you, our fans, as to what you think about this new music! I am happy with the results.

For those of you out there that are Steve Miller Band fans, there is a new CD released, recorded from live performances broadcast over the King Biscuit Flower Hour. It's already getting lots of airplay. This is a 2 CD set that includes a 1973 performance at Shady Grove in Washington DC (before I joined the band) and a 1976 show at the Beacon Theater in New York City, which was my very first tour with Steve (and later resulted in my getting a recording deal with Capitol Records). Steve and I have come a long way together since then!!! It was great to listen to what we were doing so long ago...I think Miller fans will enjoy it. "King Biscuit Flower Hour Presents The Steve Miller Band"--Check it out!!!

Many of my fans from the Western states have been missing The Knockouts this past spring as I dove deep into recording. It feels good to get back at it doing shows with some new material and a lot of built up energy after so much time off.

This summer has several things in store. At the end of July, I am headed to Oslo, Norway to begin a 10 day tour of that country with Roy Rogers as well as with a well known Norwegian artist, Reidar Larson. I look forward to getting back to Scandinavia! That looks to be a great tour!!!

In September, I am going to China with Roy to perform an international cultural exchange festival. This will include some concerts as well as performing in a parade through Beijing. I am thrilled to be able travel to China and take in some of their incredible culture.

So many exciting things lay in the future. I am back!

That's the latest update. I hope all is well with all of my fans out in Cyberville...my prayers for peace continue.

Harmonically,
Norton
